CD Projekt Red has published the patch notes for Cyberpunk 2077’s Edgerunners 2 Update, version 2.5, ahead of its October 22 release. The studio’s REDstreams announcement describes it as a free update.

What’s in update 2.5

Edgerunners tie-ins. A new side quest, Clampdown, takes place before the events of the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 series. Players unlock it by finishing The Heist plus two gigs for Wakako and then waiting for her message. During the quest, players can pick up a five-piece gear set modeled on the character King, and a new station, HKGN 102.0 FM, plays music from the Edgerunners series.

Dual-wielding. Double Trouble is a new Cool-tree perk, backed by four supporting perks, that lets V carry two Power pistols or revolvers at once. Photo Mode gains matching dual-wield poses plus frames based on the Cyberpunk Trading Card Game.

Cyberware and clothing. Mantis Blades, Gorilla Arms, Monowire and the Projectile Launch System can now be reskinned. Five Glamdoc shops, shown on the map with a spray-paint icon, offer cyberware skins with adjustable colors. Five new outfit sets come to clothing vendors such as Maxiwear, Jinguji, NetWatch and IconAmerica, the NUS Infiltrator set is sold by vendors in Kabuki and Japantown, and several hairstyles that only NPCs had are now open to V. Four TWINTONE skins for the Quadra Turbo-R V-Tech car are handed out through Twitch Drops.

Mods. Cross-platform mod support, run through mod.io, lets players browse and install a selection of community mods from the in-game menu. CD Projekt Red calls it a first step and says more mods will be added over time. It covers PC, Mac, PS5, PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X|S. Saves that use mods get their own icon, and on consoles they cannot earn achievements or trophies.

More quests. A second new side quest, Welcome to Paradise, is a guided tour of Night City narrated by Richard Night; it opens after The Heist once Street Cred reaches 15. Twelve Minor Arcana tarot cards are scattered around the city as part of an extension of the Fool on the Hill quest, with a reward for finding every card.

Tech and quality of life. The update supports DLSS 4.5, with up to 6X Multi Frame Generation or Dynamic Multi Frame Generation and the second-generation Transformer model. It also adds glasses-free 3D on compatible Samsung Odyssey 3D monitors, MetalFX Frame Interpolation on Mac, an FSR Anti-Lag 2 toggle, ray-tracing performance work and more accurate HDR. FSR 3 upscaling is dropped, while FSR 2.1, FSR 4 and FSR 3.1 Frame Generation stay. Saves are now grouped by playthrough, and apartment and vehicle stashes get item filters. Fixes include a Delamain cab that could get stuck after a crash and block quest progress, and a Film Grain setting that did nothing.
