Key summary

Ubisoft says Riders Republic will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on December 9, five years after the extreme sports game first came out. The same day, an offline single-player mode arrives on every current platform, with progress synced to the online save once players reconnect; the shop, seasons, sponsors, multiplayer and user-created events still need a connection. Anniversary events include a free weekend from October 22 to 26 and an in-game Henri PFR concert starting October 22.

Riders Republic is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on December 9. Ubisoft announced the date in a fifth-anniversary roundup on Ubisoft News, published on October 20 (02:00 KST on October 21), where it also said the open-world extreme sports game has drawn more than 17 million players since launch.

Offline play on every platform

The bigger change lands for everyone on the same day. Ubisoft says an offline mode, which it calls Nomad mode, arrives on December 9 on all current platforms, Switch 2 included. The team built it with the Switch 2 release and the game’s Steam Deck certification in mind, so players can keep progressing without a connection.

Offline, most of the game’s content is playable solo: players can roam the open world, advance their careers, unlock landmarks, find beauty spots and balloons, and keep customising their rider. When the game goes back online, everything done offline is merged into the online save, and Ubisoft says no progress is lost. It also pitches the mode as a fallback during network trouble or server maintenance.

Because the game is still run as a live service, a few parts stay online-only: the in-game store, seasonal progress, sponsor deals, multiplayer and player-made events.

Anniversary events

  • Free weekend: October 22–26. Progress made during the free weekend carries over if a player buys the game afterwards.
  • Henri PFR concert: starting October 22, the Belgian DJ’s virtual show runs two times daily for a fortnight on a giant screen set up in the Ridge. The set features his new single Make Love, Sola and Riders Things, a remix of the Riders Republic theme; watching earns a reward, and the three tracks join the in-game radio from Season 21.
  • Anniversary event: a developer-made user-generated event runs October 21 – November 4 across two weeks, with 5th Anniversary skis as the week one reward and a 5th Anniversary BMX for week two.
  • Ridge Full Send: from November 25 to December 9, an event featuring all the Toys added over the past year.
  • Crossover items: gear themed on other Ubisoft games, such as an Edward Kenway-inspired outfit from Assassin’s Creed and a Rayman BMX.

Where to play now

Riders Republic is currently available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC through the Ubisoft Store, Steam and the Epic Games Store, and through a Ubisoft+ subscription. Ubisoft also gave a first look at the game’s sixth year during its anniversary livestream, but the post does not detail those plans.
