EA's Season 5 roadmap for Battlefield 6 adds the Vegas Strip and Area 51 maps, Rapid Royale, four new weapons and a Dead Space crossover event, with Gauntlet leaving the game.
Key summary
EA says Battlefield 6 Season 5, Siege of Vegas, starts on October 13 with two new maps, Vegas Strip and Area 51, plus the Rapid Royale mode for REDSEC and four new weapons. A Casino Heist update follows on November 10, and the Frozen Aces update on December 8 adds Platoons and the Server Browser. Gauntlet leaves the game when the season begins, and a Full Game Trial runs from October 15 to 19.
Battlefield 6 is moving its fight to Nevada. In a Season 5 roadmap published on the official Battlefield site on October 9, EA confirmed that Season 5, titled Siege of Vegas, begins on October 13. The publisher calls it the game’s biggest season so far.
Two maps at launch
The season opens with a pair of new battlegrounds, and EA says a third map will be added later on.
- Vegas Strip: fighting spreads through casinos, hotel interiors, busy streets and storm drains beneath the city, with helicopters flying between the towers and armored vehicles on the roads.
- Area 51: jets, tanks and helicopters control the open desert, while infantry battles take place underground. A huge crater in the middle of the map leads down into a secret facility built around narrow corridors.
Rapid Royale and competitive play
REDSEC, the game’s battle royale side, gets Rapid Royale, a quicker format offered as Trios or Solos. Matches have fewer players, valuable loot and a Ring of Fire that keeps pushing squads to move, and players can earn redeploys by scoring eliminations.
Season 5 also starts a new Ranked BR season and launches REDSEC’s Open Series. An Elite Series with cash prizes is scheduled for later in the season, and multiplayer is getting Leaderboards.
Four new weapons
All four are available from day one:
- Mk 24 Assault Rifle: a smaller magazine in exchange for steady fire and strong damage at range.
- RSPR Submachine Gun: high damage and heavier recoil; EA places it between the SG 553R and the SCW-10.
- Z84M Light Machine Gun: a 100-round box magazine aimed at close-range fights, with tough recoil.
- ELR-40 Bolt-Action Sniper Rifle: tuned for very long shots, which suits Area 51’s open lines of sight. A special single-shot ammo type moves its ideal range up close.
Dead Space crossover and later updates
Around Halloween, a limited-time crossover called the Convergence Event brings Dead Space back to Battlefield. The setup involves a Marker found under Area 51; EA says more information will come nearer the event.
Two dated updates are on the roadmap:
- Casino Heist, November 10: a limited-time event set in the European Casino, a new map focused on infantry combat with destructible routes through its gaming floors.
- Frozen Aces, December 8: Operation High Roller, Platoons and the Server Browser, plus reworked versions of Blackwell Fields and New Sobek City based on player feedback. The B-81 Cavalry arrives in this drop as well, together with more weapons and gear.
Gauntlet goes away
Gauntlet will be removed from Battlefield 6 when Season 5 launches on October 13. EA is also running a Battlefield 6 Full Game Trial from October 15 to 19; the publisher notes the trial window may differ by platform.
